Sometimes a tooth becomes decayed so badly that it is no longer restorable. Other times the destruction of the supporting structures (the gums and the underlying bone) from periodontal disease does not give enough support for the teeth to have them retained. There are also times when the tooth becomes abscessed and it is decided that removing it is the best course of action. When any of these situations occur Dr. Berkowitz has had additional training in oral surgery and is completely comfortable with extracting any number of teeth. Additionally if it is decided that the next step is dentures Dr. Berkowitz has the ability to reshape your bone so that a denture can be worn comfortably.
